Research Interests:
Dr. Potter served as the Station Principal Investigator of the Rwanda Climate Observatory Project, which is a partnership between the Rwandan Ministry of Education and MIT to establish the first climate observatory station in Africa as a part of the AGAGE (Advanced Global Atmospheric Gases Experiment) network. The objectives of the observatory are to: collect atmospheric observations to contribute to meteorological forecasting and to monitor climatic conditions and trace gases, and to build scientific, engineering, and educational capacity within the Republic of Rwanda.
